Days 174 to 178 – quite a bit achieved this week however slightly deviated from the plan. I wanted to complete connection of all external waste pipes but couldn’t access the light shaft so that’s been delayed. I also wanted to get water mains connected but the nice chaps from Water Service Corporation couldn’t manage to make it. The electric has been connected for over a week now but no sniff of water yet!
Moaning aside, the kitchen dropped ceiling is now complete – final couple of coats of paint applied and downlights all wired in and fitted. The green tiles in the guest en-suite have been cleaned up ready for bathroom furniture installation and grouting (the last bit) on the white tiles has started – like applying an oil slick – very messy. The terrace lights have been connected to power and look fabulous. The kitchen worktop (less the island) has been fitted, sink installed and the oven connected and installed. The dropped ceiling in the front bathroom has been completed and lights fitted in there and the frame for the main bedroom en-suite dropped ceiling has been built. The ceilings are essential to be complete befpre fitment of the waterfall showers and shower doors.
Communally, the lift guys have been on site almost every day for a couple of hours and the pool guys have readied the pool for water. The pool will be run for a year or so to ensure no leaks or major drama’s and then it will be tiled.
Next week I intend finishing the main bedroom en-suite ceiling, getting furniture attached in at least 1 bathroom, plumbing in the kitchen sink but if the water gets connected or access to the shaft becomes available I will drop everything and get on with waste pipes and water connections.
