Days 111 to 117 – feels like 2 week’s since the last post but with a Valletta mini-break and 2 Wednesday walks only 7 productive days.
Still, things are moving on. The MEPA (planning people) compliance certificate has been issued so the main work currently is getting all sockets and lights fitted so a certified electrician can inspect and certificate. Electric and water meters can then be requested from ARMS. I’m hoping for the certification to happen in the next week.
Carpentry in the front bathroom and guest en-suite is complete (all to be tiled over) and work had started on the main bedroom en-suite but now postponed until the electrics are finished. The wood in the guest en-suite is all refurbished and treated with a PVA wood preserver.
The big news is that we’re now watertight (apart from the skylight which we have but needs installing) and all windows and terrace/balcony doors are in. An added bonus is that my view from the kitchen and dining rooms has returned. The flat can now spend a bit of time fully drying out after the deluge of rain we had through November.
Common parts have also moved on – the pool area (apart from the pool) is now almost complete, the light shaft and stairwell now have a roof on them and the stairs have had skirting tiles installed. The developer is aiming to have common parts completed in entirety by end of January.
Next week’s main focus – continuing with the switches, lights and sockets and (fingers crossed that he turns up) certification by a qualified electrician.
