Day 20 – So today I installed the light and socket fittings on the terrace where I cut the holes for yesterday, stuck up some more fibreglass mesh with render adhesive (getting quite good at that) and ran a couple more cables for lights.

Another really hot day today but fortunately we had a gentle breeze to keep us company.

I learnt 2 very valuable lessons today, the first being one of good and bad news.  The good news is “when its hot, render dries really fast”.  The bad news is “when it’s hot, render dries really fast”.  I hung to pieces of mesh in the TV area and experienced an exceptionally quick drying process – in fact the first sheet of mesh wouldn’t stick (wasn’t funny at the time) so I had to scrape and redo that section.  By the second piece I managed to speed up sufficiently for no drama’s.

The second lesson is – a gentle breeze does not constitute a less powerful sun!  Consequently I’m looking like a tourist this evening.  You’ll notice I hung fibreglass mesh in 2 locations – the one in the kitchen was done because I was starting to get attacked by the sun again in the TV area!

No work over the weekend for me so Day 21 will be on Monday.  Have a fab weekend!
