Day 12 – Focussed on the kitchen today to take a bare wall to one having 3 double sockets (above the kitchen worktop), 2 single sockets (up high for Sonos speaker and kitchen cabinet LED lights) and the main kitchen light switch.
Tough day as everything needed cutting into breeze blocks. The blocks are hollow so it’s easy to go through them (remedied later on with some cement to retain strength). The conduit channels are first cut and then finely chiselled – I feel like a sculptor!
The builders had put the conduit for the bathroom ceiling lights on the inside of the bathroom so a further job completed was to chase a conduit channel across the bathroom and through the wall to ensure the bathroom light switch is outside the door.
Tomorrow, more of the same – sockets and light switches in the kitchen including a seperate conduit running directly from the consumer unit for the oven.
