Days 85 & 86 – I should call this post “the evolution of a roof” which has finally been done .
The crew turned up a bit late but clearly didn’t party on Wednesday night! The concrete pour was complete in about 4 hours after which the power float and finishing guys came along. The powerfloat agitates the concrete to remove any last air bubbles and also gives it a nice smooth finish. The edges were all done by hand.
Today I cut in the expansion joints to prevent the concrete cracking and next week I will apply primer to it ready for liquid membrane being applied in another couple of week’s time.
Apart from the roof I’ve made a start tiling the rear balcony, removing the wedges from tiles, prepping bedroom 3 for grouting and drilling through the wall to get the washing machine water supply pipe and drain pipe out into the light shaft. I also prepped the holes for the piping between the underfloor heating and the heat pump which may arrive as early as next week.
Focus next week will be on finishing the rear balcony, grouting and clearing the bathroom areas ready for plumbing works.
